Essquire

Health testing and welfare

Informed decisions and honest conversations

No breeder can promise a life entirely free from illness. A responsible breeding programme can, however, make informed decisions, undertake relevant testing and communicate openly with families.

01

Registered and accountable

Essquire is registered with DOGS NSW under breeder prefix ESSQUIRE. Membership number 2100096113 is current to 30 June 2027.

02

Relevant health information

Breeding dogs are assessed using the health testing relevant to the English Springer Spaniel. Results, family history, temperament and overall soundness are considered together before a pairing is planned.

03

The whole dog matters

A laboratory result is one part of a larger picture. Daily health, structure, temperament, maturity, reproductive welfare and quality of life all matter in a breeding decision.

04

Welfare throughout life

Our responsibility includes the conditions in which puppies are raised, thoughtful placement, support after leaving and a commitment to help if a family’s circumstances change.

05

Transparency

We welcome genuine questions about our approach and share relevant information with prospective families as part of an open, respectful conversation.
