Life with an English Springer Spaniel

English Springer Spaniels are affectionate, intelligent and people-centred. They thrive when included in family life and given consistent guidance, physical activity and meaningful engagement.

01

Companionship

Springers usually want to be involved. They are not well suited to a life of prolonged isolation and often form close bonds with their people.

02

Exercise and training

They are active, capable dogs that benefit from daily exercise, mental work and kind, consistent training. Young dogs need age-appropriate activity rather than uncontrolled physical strain.

03

Grooming

The coat, ears, feet and feathering require regular attention. Routine brushing, bathing, ear care and trimming help maintain comfort as well as appearance.

04

Choosing the right individual

Within any litter, puppies differ in energy, confidence and sensitivity. A careful breeder considers the whole household when matching a puppy with a family.
